How to Self-publish A book with dignity
Start with three things:
A good manuscript
A great editor
A first-rate platform
When the thought of self-publishing with dignity popped in my head, I laughed out loud. I had already been told that self-published authors (I’m one) produce inferior, second rate, cheap books. I say, that belief is a myth to be cast away into oblivion where it belongs!
Not every self-pubished author wants to spend all of his or her time writing; some only want to write one or two books–that’s all they’ve got! They are leaders, educators, students, entertainers, neighbours and people we’ll never meet. Main stream publishers operate within decade-old guidelines that usually shut out a new, “unknown” author. Dignity is the key word!
It requires an amount of commitment, creativity, energy, and funds to get book(s) out to people and even get people to purchase books in a specific genre.
Have a business mindset. Be the manager, publicist, promoter, marketer, and more of your enterprise. Approach book-publishing from a new angle. Your book(s) needs your afterthought.
Happy writing!
