Another gripping story from this author, it takes the reader on a journey, not like any other but one which explores human emotions across the spectrum of time and tradition.
What seems like a doomed love story becomes the driving force in the novel. Adroitly the writer takes us back and forth in a clever manner so that we want the characters of Tom and Beth to find happiness in either world. The deus ex machina element, however adds a sinister aspect that creates more than a time barrier and in the end the reader is hanging on to an unexpected conclusion. A brilliant story from a versatile writer.
