TikTok
Well I finally did it. I joined TikTok. How's it going you might ask?
Interesting, I realized very quickly.
1) I am not that creative outside of writing.
2) I have no patience for waiting 60 seconds to adjust a couple words.
3) That a sixty second clip takes two hours plus to edit and tweak in hopes that I can cast a wide enough net to engage possible readers to even entertain the idea of looking up my books. Forget hoping they will read it.
I also learned that apparently I'm ancient. Being over 30, in my skinny jeans, and side part. On the plus side I don't mind that I'm old. I will be leveling up to 40 this year. I will wear my skinny jeans until they fall apart and am required to buy new ones. And I have Krusty the clown hair that does whatever the heck it wants so some days it's a side part, somedays down the middle, and other's I'm pretty sure it looks like I stuck my finger in the outlet in my bathroom and called it a day.
But the most awesome thing I discovered about TikTok, at least the Book Tok and Authors of TikTtok. They are an amazing community of people. They are supportive, encouraging, and engaging. I've had more fun on TikTok this past week then I have the past year on FB. Yeah I said it. No one wants to be my friend on FB. It's okay, maybe FB isn't my thing. I have made some new friends and fellow authors, who I'm looking forward to working with and promoting each other.
