Good News Times Two

One: I'm very happy to announce that my story "The Duelist", which won the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine Readers Award for 2020, was selected for reprint in "The Best American Mystery Stories 2020"! It's a great collection of stories and I hope you'll give it a read.

Two: I've also attached a link to an excerpt from my story, "Stone Coat", which is in the current (March/April) issue of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. Take a look. I think it will whet your interest.

Kingston Bowen Just read The Duelist in The Best American Mystery Stories 2020. It was a phenomenal read. I enjoyed the pace and the intrigue. Definitely one of the highlights of the short story book so far.

Thanks, Kingston--you have made my day! I'm so glad that you enjoyed "The Duelist". I don't know if you ever read Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine but I have a story in the current May/June issue titled "A Season of Night". Again my thanks for commenting--we short story writers don't get much feedback, so I appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Kingston Bowen My wife has been getting me the Best American Short Story books for the last 10 years or so at Christmas. Great reads. I really enjoy the short story. I hope to find that talent at some point.

I will track down May issue of EQ Mystery Mag. I have never read an issue before. Sounds like a good time to start.
