When Good Men Do Nothing

by Kenton Long.

History and heroes are lost to political correctness. Polite society is the exception, not the norm. Prosperity is the exception, not the norm. Comfort and peace are the exception, not the norm. Liberty is not the norm.

Americans’ right to bear arms is history’s exception—by a long shot. The United States of America is the first country in history whose government must allow its citizens to arm up in peace time; most particularly firearms on par with those born by its military. Rightly so. America is the first. History has no other examples to examine. Makes you wonder how it all ends.

I suspect our Founding Fathers knew how it all ends. But this is not a post about the 2nd Amendment. Hah! Those articles are easy to write! Sadly this article will not be easy to write.

Before proceeding, I must establish two assumptions. If you are not in agreement with one or both assumptions, this post won’t make sense to you.

Assumption #1. The 2020 presidential election was rigged. The far Left of the Democrat Party, in partnership with media, big tech, and so-called “woke” corporations, exaggerated the effects of Covid-19 (while downplaying effective treatments) in order to destroy Trump’s economic achievement and steal the election via massive, phony, mail-in ballot campaign. In addition to ballot box stuffing, the Left and globalist elites employed voting machines across the country programed to distribute a percentage of votes from Trump’s column to Biden’s column. (One has to wonder how long that’s been going on!) The fraud was massive and coordinated. The fraud has been covered up by the leftist media and thrown out of courts by spineless judges (hiding behind skirts they conveniently ascribed themselves whereby they pick and choose cases the court will hear). Assumption #1, presumes an election coup on Nov. 3rd, 2020, orchestrated by enemies foreign and domestic.

Assumption #2. The primary purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to recognize all individuals have a God-given right to protect themselves and provide a common defense against enemies foreign and domestic. The 2nd Amendment aint about the government allowing citizens the privilege of hunting to provide for one’s family. No. The 2nd Amendment—like all the amendments—protects we the people from authoritarian government. The right to bear arms is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights so that citizens have the means to overthrow—by lethal and equal force—a government gone rogue, a sudden and tyrannical takeover. What? To shoot tyrannical politicians? No, of course not. Power hungry, corrupt politicians will always be with us. We expect it. Our Founders expected it. Rather, firearms in the hands of citizens provides for a common defense against an armed force under the direction of tyrannical politicians. “Armed forces” includes military units as well as law enforcement agencies, federal and state. Pretty simple stuff. Only, no one wants to say it out loud—it’s not “politically correct.”

We’re going to politically correct ourselves right into the hands of tyranny if Americans don’t stand up and say it how it is.

“Oh, we’ll just win the next election—Trump 2024!” Do you really believe that? Do you really believe the Left won’t be able to rig the next election? Particularly now that they have the levers of government to institutionalize rigged elections. Assumption #1, assumes the last election was rigged, and the next election will be rigged. And the next. And the one after that.

Those are our two assumptions for this article. If you’re not onboard with those two proposals, you can bail out here. Go back to your comfort, your Facebook, and Fox News.

Fox News. Don’t get me started. Boy, that’d be an easy post to write!

This is where it gets harder.

Let’s go back to the events of January 6th and the “storming” of the US Capitol building. I don’t know why Trump called for a rally that day. It didn’t make sense. Trump failed to invoke the Insurrection Act in the weeks between the election and inauguration, a colossal failure to fulfill his solemn oath as president. And why schedule a big Trump rally in the middle of the week? I don’t get it. Pence was always a lost cause. (Trump chose Pence to be his VP in 2016, precisely because Pence was an establishment Republican, “balancing” the Republican ticket.)

As for the tens of thousands of Trump supporters and conservatives who attended the rally, January 6th, those are my peeps! Love you guys. Wish I could have been there.

As for the “storming” of the capitol? I thought it was glorious, with the exception of the tragic killing of patriot Ashli Babbit and the unfortunate fatal stroke of Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick.

Glorious indeed! given our two assumptions. Capitol Hill is the people’s house. We paid for that building. We still pay for the lights, utilities, cleaning, maintenance, and security. The grounds are ours to stand upon. The roof, ours to occupy. Open the damn doors!

The floor of the senate does not belong to senators. It belongs to us, Americans—the senate’s chairs, carpet, desks, microphones, tapestries, the whole damn thing. All of it belongs to the people. (As for the private offices of our elected officials, those doors should’ve remained secure and offices inviolable, out of respect for individual rights to privacy.)

I am so proud of all the patriots who attended the day’s rally. History will correctly liken the storming of the capitol to a Boston Tea Party moment.

Yes, Antifa and BLM played a role in instigating the breach of the locked building and consequent property damage. Did Antifa and BLM’s planned participation rise to the level of a false flag event? Hah! I wouldn’t give those Lost Boys that much credit. Conservatives are adults, we take responsibility for our actions. Blaming the storming of the Capitol on leftwing agent provocateurs is demeaning. Please, just stop it.

But this post isn’t really about January 6th, is it? Nope. It’s about political correctness stifling even the most patriotic and capable among us—blunting the tip of the spear.

The tip of the spear, arguably, is the aggregate of patriot groups across the country, sworn to defend the US Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. Members of these groups are usually—but not necessarily—vets, active duty military, and law enforcement. Some are self-organized militia, most are not. Some are organized locally, some nationally. None have party affiliation to my knowledge, but clearly fall in the conservative camp. People from all walks of life make up their membership. I count myself a member in two such organizations, one national and one local. While differences abound between patriot groups, they have much in common, notably the Left is afraid of them.

The Left—inside the US and without—should be afraid of US patriot groups. They should be scared to death, but the Left isn’t quite that scared right now, are they. The Left is feeling bold, particularly since Biden took the oath of office, bringing the US military, FBI, intelligence agencies and apparatus under their control. You could almost hear a collective “wheeew” from the Left when Biden removed his hand from the Bible. “I can’t believe we got away with that!”

Yeah, you got away with it. Your plan worked. The media and everyone played their part perfectly. Even the confused Dr. Fauci.

While beating back tyranny has always been and always will be an uphill battle for mankind, I am gravely concerned for announcements I’m reading online coming from the patriot tip of the spear. Examples will serve.

From one national patriot group we read this online:

[We] do not condone the initiation of force or any hostile act, and do not condone unlawful activities or actions. We are all about lawful self-defense, defense of others, and supporting and defending the Constitution. . . . Illegal acts have never been and never will be tolerated.

Huh. I guess that means you “do not condone” the actions of Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and the Sons of Liberty dumping millions of dollars’ worth of East India Trading Company tea into Boston Harbor. Clearly an “unlawful activity”—trespassing, holding others against their will, grand theft, and destruction of property. The Boston Tea Party, evidently, was an activity this modern patriot group simply would not “tolerate.”

Here’s a quote—parting words rather—from the website of a well-organized state patriot group with national affiliation:

This org has been dissolved. . . . We did not conspire or participate in the Jan 6 DC riots and capitol breach and we condemn the actions of those that did.

That’s the tip of the spear? More like, the butt of a joke. Either they’ve gone underground or turned and ran. Their principles go on to claim:

No First Use of Force – “Don’t fire unless fired upon”. We are not the aggressor nor antagonist. We are purely defensive and only as a last resort.

That’s great. Your country was taken over without a shot fired. No shots fired, so I guess that’s okay. Bloodless coup requires a bloodless response? I hate to break this to you, but the Left plays for keeps. Ask 4 million Ukrainians living under Soviet communist dictator Stalin . . . oh, that’s right, they’re all dead! Stalin starved them to death. Bloodless, you know.

Here’s another one from a patriot group in a different state:

We also take the position that the Constitution is the foundation of our GREAT Country and should under no circumstances be violated. We will stand to defend our Constitution and Country from all threats foreign and domestic.

All threats foreign and domestic? What are you waiting for? A public service announcement? Pearl Harbor? Where exactly are you physically “standing”? What ground are you holding? Please stop with the metaphors, it’s embarrassing. It goes on . . .

We are praying and hoping this country will soon find it’s (sic) center and will follow the Constitution and treat it’s (sic) citizens with the equal respect they deserve.

That sounds great. I’m all for prayer. Our Founders were prayerful men and women, make no mistake. But, if our Founders did no more than pray, I suspect we’d be bowing to kiss Queen Elizabeth’s ass today.

So it’s really a question about violence, isn’t it. According to recent online quotes from patriot organizations above—the so-called tip of the spear—violence is not an option. The tip of the spear has gone Nerf.

“Oh, we don’t want to make the first move.” Why? Bad PR? Under what circumstances do you think the media will write a favorable word about you, ever? Yeah, never. (Uphill battle, remember?) You are screwed as far as PR goes, so just stop it. And about this “never first shot” policy, congratulations that’s all very politically correct, but I ask you this: If a gunman kicks in your front door, are you going to wait for him to shoot first?

When it comes to options, violence is ALWAYS on the table. Period. If you take the threat of violence off the table, you might as well turn in your patriot card, hand over your firearms to the Biden administration, and apologize to your children.

No hard feelings though—someone’s gotta watch the gear in the rear.

I’m a peaceful, God-fearing man, but threaten to harm my family and watch how fast I get violent.

Violence and the threat of violence is not the first option, nor the second, but it NEVER comes off the table.
