Lovely review in The Times newspaper today (Saturday 20th March 2021) for The Actuality.
This is the conclusion:
'Written with flair and humanity, The Actuality catches the tenor of a mind similar to but nonetheless very different from our own. It’s not entirely clear what led Braddon to such self-conscious anachronisms (Daniels the gardener!). The effect, though, is mesmerising — as though, in the future, we will topple back into the rainy avenues of a Quatermass serial.'
