Even though she constantly reminded herself how much she did not want Thorin, she watched anxiously for his sudden appearances. Yesterday at the tournament, she had wanted to shake off Paul’s grasp and go to him as he balanced himself at the railing. She knew not how she felt. He made her smile when she wanted to claw at his face. He made her feel more than warm when she wanted to treat him with coolness. He made her tingle as much with a look as with a kiss.
“Kiss me,” she said suddenly to Paul.
Paul stopped talking immediately.
Probably a first for him, Allys thought. She lowered her eyes in a coy gesture. “Unless of course you do not want to,” she said.
