Trying something new can be scary. But it's also thrilling.
Part of the fun is learning new things about myself. (Or rediscovering them.)
When I did my first repel off of Cassidy Arch, I was scared, but determined to get it done. By the time we finished the whole trek (8 repels in all) I had a sense of accomplishment that I hadn't felt in a long time.
I remember saying to our guide, "I feel like I found a piece of myself today."
"How so?" he prompted me to continue thinking this through. (See... awesome guide.)
"When I had babies, my body was made weak." (My pregnancies were beyond difficult and took a lot out of me.) "I'd forgotten that I can do hard physical things--that I can push myself and make it."
