It's been a while...

After completing 'The Skipton Horrors' I set out to write a romance novel - a huge leap away from my comfort zone i.e fantasy, horror, and contemporary fiction. I've spent the last few months reading different styles of romance and tried to establish a unique storyline, but this only arrived at one conclusion: I am not a romance author.

The more I tried to write in this style, the more I became disheartened. To make a comparrison: it's like being offered your favourite chocolate bar, but instead you're given a stick of celery; it simply doesn't sit right.

To conclude: I've fallen back on wanting to write a new horror novel (and a story not directly tied to the previous horror books I've written). I know this goes back on what I said months ago, but there are just too many cons involved when treading into the romance genre - a heavily saturated and difficult-to-please marketplace.
