Progress Report

Hi, it seems I'm always apologising for not sharing what's happening. The last year's been busy; I've often had to choose between the urgent and the important. Add in a hospital stay and a new medication regime for various neurological issues, and that's been my year. When I look around the world and the general mayhem that only seems to get more complicated and crazy each year— I have nothing to complain about.

As for writing, I'm still fitting that into the evenings and days off. I had a block with the Stork Tower Series. After a few months, I discovered that the reason was my constant reworking of the storyline. I was attempting to get the last book completed without ending up with a book three hundred thousand words or more. In this last month, I bit the bullet and decided to just write. What that means is the first half is with those who edit and check it before I upload it as 'Skirmish'. With the self-imposed pressure gone, I've been able to move ahead with some freedom and 'War' is half done.

While struggling with the Stork Tower, I ended up starting two more series; I hope the first book in one of those will be ready soon. Several new episodes for each series I write as Ethan Stand are almost ready to come out in the next few months.

I want to thank those who've been so kind as to ask if I'm OK. I've been reminded how it is the small kindnesses that mean so much.

Tony

Nick Glad to hear from you! Happy to hear your writing block is gone and I hope you're feeling better health-wise.

Tyson Great to hear you are doing ok. Looking forward to Skirmish.

Tyson Do you have an estimate for Skirmish release date?

message 5: by Jacqui (new)

Jacqui Thank you for the update, I hope things settle back for a more normalish place for you. Your books are always worth the wait. I savor quality over quantity. I am a firm believer that things happen for reasons that we cant see since our brains have trouble with seeing a bigger picture sometimes. May you find inspiration in the most unlikely places and laughter at every turn.

Mike Fortier I am glad that you are doing ok now. I can’t wait for more books. But take the time to take care of yourself first.

Evan Don't scare me like that man! The book can wait, you take care of your health and family and don't let us fans get you down. Yes, I really want to know how Atherleah is going to win the day but in the end it is all not as important as real people like yourself.

Tyson Skirmish is out on amazon.

Mike Fortier Glad you said something. Amazon didn’t notify me that the new Ethan Stand books were out. I stumbled on them yesterday and finished both today. Perfect timing for the new read.

Mike Fortier Well that didn’t last long. I consumed those 3 books already. I guess I have to wait again.

I'm with you, Mike. I only just saw two new Ethan Stand books and pretty much demolished straight away.

I love Corden's books and Stand's books because of strong female characters. Does anyone have any suggestions for other authors who offer the same? Getting tired of only finding flat boring characters in the LitRPG genre.

Have you tried the Stonehaven League series by Carrie Summers? The female lead doesn't start strong but generally lifts herself up to become strong through hard work and a little luck.
