The Adventures of Izza of Opak
Twenty-three years ago, I started The Adventures of Izza of Opak, and last week I finished it. I'm very proud to say it is NOW AVAILABLE in Paperback and Kindle at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096LKJDXM?...
In 1997, I drew a character sitting on a stump playing the flute. That character grew into many characters, and a story emerged. I kept notes for several years about the characters and their world as thoughts came to me. In 2000 I outlined the original story and started writing The Adventures of Izza of Opak. It was a story about a little girl, Izza, and her brother, Moyco. It was about coming of age during a difficult time, an end of their innocence as their world fell apart, and prevailing against all odds to make things good again. Over the years, the plot and characters evolved, but the essence of the story, and Izza stayed the same.
I'm excited to be able to finally share these characters and the world that's been living inside my head for almost two decades. I hope you enjoy it too.

Back Description: The Adventures of Izza of Opak is a coming-of-age story full of positive messages about love, hope, and dealing with conflict and grief. It takes place on the Isle of Ter’Rah, inhabited by an array of eccentric characters: the gossipy Teraccan fairies, the gentle tree-climbing, and egg-laying Talourians, the rugged mountain-living Mossocs, the mysterious winged Evidians, and the peace-loving Opaks. Despite their differences, they must all come together to face the calculating Lord Orthor from the Nation of Kamon, who is attempting to undo years of peace and progress for his self-centered intentions. The young female protagonist, Izza of Opak, and her newfound friend, Togie of Chaz, face the loss of their homes and families but together rise above adversity to become courageous leaders during troubled times. When war breaks out across Ter’Rah, Izza and Togie race back and forth—from the Talourian Forest to the Ardengos Mountains, and even across the Aka Sea—attempting to bring the inhabitants of this small island together to confront Lord Orthor and to stop his dangerous Kamon Raiders.
