What is the thing you want to do?
I ‘m not talking about the thing you want to do in an hour, a day, a week, a month or even a year. I am talking about the thing which keeps popping up in your thoughts, knawing your stomach, appearing in your dreams. Yes that thing.
Want to tell someone you are in love with him/her—-husband, wife, mother, father, children, significant other? Is today the day to get the covid-19 vaccination; to check your blood pressure; write your Memoir? Identify the thing you want to do and do it.
Most times we listen to inner instructions and do as we’re told and other times we put off for tomorrow what we should and must do today.
The thing that kept knawing me was to see my best friend in Washington, DC. I postponed my trip several times in four years; then the pandemic happened; and she exited. I lost my opportunity to do the thing my inner voice instructed me to do.
So, what is that thing you want to do ?

PROLOGUE ONE
Six months earlier…
She seated herself by the window and watched as daylight turned softer, which was when someone came with late afternoon tea. Everything remained the same at Ethica Mature Lifestyles; deviations were dreary days with draperies drawn, chilly nights without Sheldon’s warm body alongside her, and visits from Gordon, her trusted lawyer who dutifully reminded her of her expanded wealth.
The stretch of land from her window on the eighth floor was vast. On a clear day, she could see many miles of Lake Ontario, glistening in the magnificent midday sun and, white streaks from passing planes crisscrossing the blue skies.
She turned her head towards the open door. “Julie is that you,” she voiced in anticipation. She would beckon Julie to come in; it was time for tea.
Hallucination.
