Unplug. August 1
"Unplug, Doug," I tell my co-worker as I hang up the work phone.
Doug called on his one day off to check up on a project he had been working on all week.
Unplug. It's a word we use in our Media Operations Department when one of us (myself included!) is too wrapped up in a project and we need to release it and let it go…and remember to enjoy our time off …and trust our other team-mates to handle our work assignments while we are away.
This one word says so much! Do not worry about it. You are okay. Your efforts and your work are fine. So, recharge and unplug.
But why is this concept so hard to grasp?
John Eldredge says in his book "Get Your Life Back: Everyday Practices for a World Gone Mad":
"We are aiming for release, turning over into the hands of God whatever is burdening us and leaving it there. It's so easy to get caught up in the drama in unhealthy ways, and then we are unable to see clearly, set boundaries and respond freely.
Get untangled, step out of the quagmire; which means peeling apart the Velcro by which this person, relationship, crisis or global issue has attached itself to you. Or you to it. Detachment means getting some healthy distance."
Let us UNPLUG and trust that God will work in our favor, will fight our battles and my friend, please relax and recharge on your days off!!!
If you need prayer for anything, let me know! I would love to pray for you!
