I have a confession: I was worried I didn't have any more stories in me.

You see, the way my books have come to me have been in the form of visions a few days after having watched a movie. Scenes would start popping into my head and the characters would start chattering away.

My latest book is released and I waited for the visions to come.

And I waited.

Nothing was coming.

So many people who read Someone Exactly Like Me wanted me to write Candi's story. I LOVED the idea. After all, she was already a partially developed character.

When nothing was coming to me, I panicked. And that didn't help matters AT ALL. It simply stunted my creativity even more.

So as NOT to simply stare at a blank screen all day, I kept productive doing a ton of little things I'd been putting off as I was ramping up for the release of Someone Exactly Like Me. A few house-related things and some administrative things for my author business. Plus, I continue self-development and learning about marketing and advertising.

I've had phrases, sentences, and tidbits of scenes hit me and I wrote them down, but, admittedly, I felt a little empty. Nothing was connecting.

I also realized I hadn't created my Pinterest board for Candi's story. I knew a little about her love interest, but he didn't even have a face. So, I created my Pinterest board (it's private at the moment until I add more Pins to it) and worked on the music playlist.

As I was trying to fall asleep last night, things started happening in my brain. And this morning during my workout, WHOOSH!!!! Scenes came to life in my mind. Feelings surged inside me.

There is was...

...the fire in my belly I'd been waiting for.

It blazed through me. And I felt the exhilaration I'd been longing for!

Candi's story is coming at me and I'm so excited to write it for you all!!!

It's such an odd profession, being an author. Waiting for inspiration to basically smash you square in the face. Worrying if it never does again. Yearning for characters to talk to you inside your head. AND I LOVE IT ALL!!!

So, get ready because Candi's story is swirling out of me and I'm so excited to bring it to you!!!!!

Here's one of the phrases that came to me this morning...

"She’s whiskey running through my veins. Warm, soothing, intoxicating – f*cking er*tic."
