Hey, friends! First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my beta team, who's been putting up with my crazy haphazard chapters and new additions. You guys are awesome, and your feedback and is making The Dragon King so much better! <3 I've been working hard on getting this draft right, and early feedback from both of my editors and my beta team says that it's finally hitting the mark. (At least as I add the revisions!) That's the good news.
The bad news is I'm not done. The new draft has two new viewpoint characters with their own storylines that affect everyone else's, lots left to get right, not to mention needing to complete editing, revision, and proofreading. I could try to rush this, but this story has already taken so long to get right that I'm especially not going to start trying to cut corners now. What does that mean?
It means I'm going to keep working with my beta team and my editors Mel Sterling and Clare Hardager, but I'm going to postpone the launch. Please don't worry when Amazon cancels your pre-orders--you won't be charged--and I won't be putting up another preorder. Instead I'll keep you updated on progress and announce when the release is coming in my newsletter and on my social media pages.
My goal is early to mid September, but my promise is not until it's ready, which may take a few days to a couple weeks. But you'll know where I'm at every step of the way. I'll aim for updates every Monday until we're there. Lea Vickery, my assistant, will poke me to make sure I remember amid all the busy insanity of this launch.
Thank you for your patience as I went through illness and traumatizing personal issues. I'm back in fighting form! I apologize for the wait, but it's my goal to deliver you a story that will be worth it.
