Let me sum up my 2021 really briefly for you: there was not a whole lot of the flow I set out to have. Clearly.

If you are subscribed to one or more of my newsletters, it may have felt like I dropped off the face of the earth. Sorry about that.

Surprise! I’m alive! And I am feeling renewed after attending Orlando Reads Books 2021.

By the way, I attended Orlando Reads Books 2021! I was safe, of course—masked up and distanced as often as I could be—but I did get to meet a few readers and I got to set up my table for the first time. (An emphasis is placed on “my” because I’ve previously attended conferences as an assistant, and while that was swell, this brought whole new levels of anxiety and heart-stopping joy to the event.)

Since listening to the many wonderful talks at ORB by indie inspirations such as Elana Johnson, I have decided to lean into what I am good at. I’ve long passed my one-year publishing anniversary, so I think I have enough data to report with absolute confidence that when I give myself immovable deadlines, I will actually, like, give you guys books to read.

So, I’ve done something that is a little dangerous.

I have three 2022 Amazon pre-orders up right now. Before the end of 2021, there will be a fourth one up, too.
