The Quarterback’s Dragon
I couldn’t resist writing about what happened after the dragon in The Incubus’s Mate left the club.
Here’s the official description:
Ashton Lazarus is a college quarterback getting an economics degree and wondering what in the world is going on with his best friend and neighbor. Dyre Tranum has been missing classes, skipping study sessions, going out every night, and refusing to talk to Ash about why he’s acting so differently. Aside from the worry that something’s wrong with his friend, Ash is also upset that Dyre won’t trust him to help.
When Dyre calls Ash for a ride in the middle of the night, Ash jumps at the chance to assist. He’s desperate not to lose his friend, the man he’s secretly loved since the day he met him. But even picking Dyre up near an alley as a blizzard barrels down on them doesn’t have Dyre opening up to Ash.
Only when Ash overhears Dyre talking to his father about assaulting a guy in a club and needing a tranquilizer does Ash find his breaking point. He’s not going to let Dyre go through whatever this is alone, even if he has to force the truth out of him.
But Ash never imagined Dyre’s problems might be because he’s not human and is desperate to find his mate. Is this Ash’s chance to finally tell his best friend that he loves him? Even if it changes the rest of Ash’s life?
This 9,000-word/22-page short story where a college student learns about the supernatural, dragons go into heat, and virgins lose their virginity in every way possible. It can be read before or after The Incubus’s Mate and could be considered a standalone book.
