I can't remember the last time I wanted to read a politician's memoir--until I The Division of Power & Light by former mayor/congressman Dennis Kucinich. He tells a riveting story about the ups (winning one for the people) and downs (three assassination threats and backroom deals) and a massive amount of details to prove his thesis. I believe it goes something like this: when you're elected by the people, you actually serve them, listen to everyone not just your donors and corporate pals, and the campaign promises you make you keep or die trying.

This is the story of keeping Cleveland's power and light in the hands of the public and not private/profit-makers. Think PG&E if you want the private/public debacle that has taken lives and the property due to profits over poor maintenance.

Dennis writes like he talks--in plain language, with enthusiasm, honesty, humor, and without a lot of self-adoration. I heard that he's considering a run for mayor of Cleveland in 2022.
