The Art of Dark Tarot

descriptionSome books are a work of art because of the words inside them. They make you feel and reflect and learn. Dark Tarot is a love story. It’s a story of family, of loss, of discovery. It’s a story of friendship. We visit old friends in a way we’ve not done since Dark Celebration and I love that feeling of nostalgia as we travel all around the world to see them.

description

Dark Tarot’s cover is absolutely stunning. When I held the book in my hands and looked at that cover it was a feeling hard to describe. I’m so proud of this book on so many levels. The cover was designed by Kristin del Rosario and I think it’s one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen. She did an amazing job with the cover which adds to the artistic flair of the overall presentation of the book.

description

It doesn’t stop there. Inside the book is more original art. The Baker Sisters, Mercedes and Melissa, created these amazing tarot cards exclusively for me and for Dark Tarot. They did the entire Major Arcana of the tarot. There are 23 cards, which means there are 23 chapters, starting with zero – The Fool. It ends with a very special card that you may recognize from the book trailer, the tote or some other promo pictures we’ve put out – The Goddess card. I’ll do a separate blog about her later. She is not part of the original tarot deck as most people know it.

I can’t wait for people to hold this book in their hands or see it on their eReader so they can see just how unique these beautiful, artistic cards truly are.

Let me know if you're intrigued by the cards!

Barbara Miller I can’t wait to hold this book in my hands! I don’t know much about Tarot cards, but I am open to learn. Thank you for all you do. You are a very special author. One of only a few I’ve read that absolutely transports me into the world you have created. I treasure each book that I have.

Jacqulyn I debated whether or not to write this. I haven't read Dark Tarot yet so I don't know how much you know about the origin of the cards. They were developed to teach the mystical meanings of the Hebrew Aleph-Bet and the numbers associated with each letter that was used in the practice of gematria. Example: The fool is the beginning of the deck associated with Aleph and the number 0. There is a description in the Zohar that goes through the entire Aleph-Bet and explains how God uses each letter. If the homes were raided during their uses, the cards would suddenly be used to play games, hiding the true purpose of the cards in a world where Judaism was frowned upon and discriminated against (some were burned as heretics). FYI, my favorite card is the Hermit who carries the lantern to spread light in a world of darkness. Just some trivia for you and other readers!

I love your books and look forward to listening to Dark Tarot.

I know she did a great deal of research on the cards, but these particular cards are not exactly like the tarot you know. They are special to Adalasia and her heritage which you find out in the book.
It will be interesting to see what people who are familiar with traditional tarot decks think.

Carol L Cridge I just know this one will take me on an unforgettable ride to that always welcome HEA. So happy for Sandu, He was one of my favorites. I love that Dax, Gabriel and some of the other ancients are in this too! I've never been familiar with Tarot cards so this is a learning experience-for me. You are the best at research, bringing new experiences to your readers via talent and text. Love your writing! It's getting colder here so it's awesome you have so many new releases the next few months. I will grab my comforter, kindle (or hardback) and snuggle in for the certain wonderous voyage I find myself on any time I read one of your books. Thank you for those 'get-away' hours. I SO need them. LOL

Amanda Bhear Carol you took the words right out of my mouth! Books are like a doorway into another world & Christine is definitely one of the best at showing us the way!

Michelle Eason I got the book today and will enjoy reading it. The art work in it looks great. You are one of the best authors that i read to this day.

I'm always happy when people share their knowledge and experiences.
Yes, I did research their origin and I'm so fascinated with it.
I do have an alternate, fictional, history of Adalasia's deck and am interested in what people think.

A "doorway" is exactly right!

Tarma The cards are wonderful. Thank you for sharing. :-) I've not got Dark Tarot yet but anticipate reading it soon!

message 11: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina Davis I would totally buy that tarot card deck if it was available for purchase

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Bhear I can't wait to read it! I'm curious about tarot cards but I've always left them alone. I'm not superstitious, but I've heard good & bad about them. When I was growing up I had a very religious grandmother who could put the heebie jeebies on anything, & it kind of sticks with you. If you know what I mean.

Michele Rogers I loved the Tarot cards. They are beautiful, I would definitely buy them.

I'll let you know when I've read the book. I actually plan to listen to it.

Amber Hello! Is there a way to buy a deck of the tarot cards created specifically for you regarding the new book? I am quite interesting in buying a deck for myself! But I am having trouble finding anything about them or if it is possible to purchase!

message 17: by JazzRizz (new)

JazzRizz I'm currently listening to the audible version right now, and so far it's shaping up to be one of my all-time favorites in the series. I didn't realize artwork is in the book...I may have to get the physical book as well. I'd love to get a copy of an actual Tarot Deck!

We are in discussions about setting up an online store to sell merchandise. I hope to have more information in the next couple of weeks. I have several decks and so many people seem interested in them.

I am leaning toward selling the decks. They are exclusive to Dark Tarot. I'm even having a guidebook created. Give me a couple of weeks and I should have more information.

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Bhear That sounds so interesting! It would be neat to just kind of understand what the tarot cards mean.

message 21: by Angie (new)

Angie Loving the story so far! Are the tarot cards available? I'd love to add them to my Christine Feehan wall. 🙃

message 22: by Megan (new)
