I haven't quite climbed out of the saddle . . .

I never expected to write a western, let alone two, but I found that Devil Up didn't entirely exorcise the urge. So here's one more. It features an undertaker, a Pacific Islander, assorted outlaws, and a cow.

The novel is available for preorder and will be published in January.

T.R. Pearson Thanks, Mark. It seems like a good one, tho I'm still editing and rewriting.

Ralph Ordered.

Jan 25 seems like a long time from now, but I guess it will get here faster than expected as they usually do.

message 4: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Hi Ralph,

Thanks for ordering. Yes, January will be here in a flash, I'm sure.

Valerie Well, this is good news! Something to look forward to in the dreary depths of winter. I’ve pre-ordered.

Paulette Ridey Heading over to Amazon now! Well, I'm in Amazon and looked up the title and also your name. It's not there! Thought it might be too early, but I see someone else was able to pre-order. Hm....where is it??

Yay!

message 14: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Thanks Tommy and Beth. I've enjoyed writing both of these westerns. New territory for me.

message 15: by Baweeta (new)

Baweeta Absolutely loved Devil Up!! Very excited you're doing another in the same vein. Thanks for the Christmas present of something to look forward to in January!

T.R. Pearson My pleasure, Baweeta. I hope you enjoy it.

message 17: by Emily (new)

Emily Hedrick Ever since reading A Short History and all of its successors (and loving them!!), I've lived in perpetual hope that you'd keep writing. Your unique, quirky Southern voice speaks to me. In fact, I read your prose aloud for maximum effect. Just pre-ordered this latest title. You've given this fan -- and fellow Tar Heel -- something to look forward to in the new year. I'm laughing already!

message 18: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Hi Emily,

I'm grateful for your good opinion. I'll try to keep writing if you'll keep reading.

Thanks for checking in.

message 19: by Andrew (new)

Andrew I will second Emily's comments. I found Short History in the remainder bin at the Davis-Kidd in Knoxville in 1987 and have bought virtually every book you've written since (minus TOP OF THE ROCK). I even have two you signed for me!

I will keep reading (and buying) if you keep writing.

message 20: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Thanks Andrew. I appreciate your support through the years, but the remainder bin? That stings a little. Though I do have happy memories of Davis-Kidd.

message 21: by Michael (new)

Michael Riley Im waiting with bated breath as I do with each of your books -- fiction and nonfiction alike!

message 22: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Thanks Michael. I hope you enjoy the new one, and I appreciate your support.

message 23: by Ellen (new)

Ellen Daniels Oh, I just can't wait! Pre-ordered already! Thank you for another!

message 24: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson My pleasure, Ellen. I hope you enjoy it.

message 25: by Michael (new)

Michael Riley Just got my copy of Joy To The Just. One paragraph an I am hooked!
Thanks.

message 26: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Hi Michael,

Thanks for your support, and I hope you enjoy it.

message 27: by Paulette (new)

Paulette Ridey I just saw that Goodreads will be discontinuing this feature (following authors), so thought I would post this before it goes away. I was talking to my ex the other night and he told me that his Olli group in Carson City, NV (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) will be reading A Short History of a Small Place! They just finished a Zadie Smith book, so you are in good company.

message 28: by T.R. (new)

T.R. Pearson Hi Paulette. That's good news. I hope the reading group enjoys that book. I've been getting lots of emails from goodreads about changes they're making, so I'm expecting everything to get a little (or a lot) worse. That's usually the way.

Thanks for checking in.
