I will second Emily's comments. I found Short History in the remainder bin at the Davis-Kidd in Knoxville in 1987 and have bought virtually every book you've written since (minus TOP OF THE ROCK). I even have two you signed for me!

I just saw that Goodreads will be discontinuing this feature (following authors), so thought I would post this before it goes away. I was talking to my ex the other night and he told me that his Olli group in Carson City, NV (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) will be reading A Short History of a Small Place! They just finished a Zadie Smith book, so you are in good company.
