One more spin. Dec. 5

One more spin. Dec. 5

I was playing the Hasbro's board game, "The Game of Life" with a friend the other day.

It was very freaky - and astute - the “results” of the game. I was a Children's Author, I owned an online business, dabbled in acting and won so many awards with bonus paydays. I was married and owned a family home. All kind of seemed very similar to my "real life."

As I was playing this game, I said to my friend, "I am going to own this family home and fill it up with children!"

Then I get to the STOP: FAMILY PATH or LIFE PATH. I chose FAMILY PATH which almost guarantees the player to get a baby (a peg in the car). Somehow, I managed to skip all those baby spots. I even STOPPED to SPIN for a Baby and still couldn't get one.

In the meantime, my friend was landing on all the baby spots and filling up her car with blue and pink pegs to indicate her growing family.

I was getting discouraged. "How is this so easy for you?" I ask my friend. "How come I can't get a baby and I am trying so hard?"

As I continue playing the game – “continuing on with Life” - I finally land on a baby girl spot and excitedly place my pink peg in the car.

My friend said to me, "See? You didn't give up! It came to you, maybe when you weren't even trying."

And I was thankful for my one pink peg. Even though my friend had a car full of pegs, I learned that taking the risky paths in Life are well worth it to attain the prize!

Even though my friend officially won the board game, I thought I won an important lesson: keep rolling, keep spinning, keep moving. Other people may have the blessings you want or are recipients of gifts you are trying to attain. But never say never!

You never know which is the next step, the next spot, the next spin that will get you to your greatest gift.

If you need prayer for anything, let me know. I would love to pray for you!
