Mid December
How hard is it to believe we are almost halfway through the month of December? Time truly flies this time of year. It feels like I was in the middle of NaNoWriMo and then boom, December. Reflecting on the challenge, I didn't reach the 50k mark for the month but if you count what I wrote in October, I was well over 90k in total for my new project. Last night I finished with my first round of edits for Lost, the first Stokes Case.
This is my latest project and the story is across multiple genres because God forbid I did anythin normal and stuck to one. It was supposed to be a mystery, a crime novel, but ended up being more of a general fiction story about a veteran dealing with post traumatic stress while investigating a case gone bad. His life is in shambles and he has to figure out how to navigate a situation he created without getting himself framed in the process.
I originally thought it would be a series of books, so we'll see if a second book is written in the months ahead. I'm not sure when I will get it sent off to my editor but I imagine in the beginning of 2022 for an early spring release. The holidays are always a fickle time. With that, I wish you all well in the weeks ahead. May the season be a good one for you and may you find good books to read and entertain you in the downtime that follows.
