I've always thought about writing a blog, but never saw the value in it. Not because of the idea of blogging - I love blogs - just never thought anyone would really care what I had to say. Maybe I still feel that way and maybe there is some truth to it. BUT ... I've had a discussion with one of my children the other day and she really made me reconsider. My daughter told me that whether or not I become well known for my writing, writing is part of my journey and that when it comes time to tell her children about me, she wants them to know who their grandma is and the type of woman they come from. Mind you, my daughter is 24 and is not feeling her biological clock ticking, however what she said kind of made sense to me.
So, to my oldest baby girl, here I am ... starting something new because of you. You have been the start of so many incredible firsts for me, and here you are encouraging me to even more firsts. If you only knew how much I admire you and even look up to you. Since the day I knew there was even a "you" you have inspired me, motivated me, taught me, made me second guess myself and made me strong enough to push forward even when I didn't think I could take another step. For all you have done for me without your ever knowing, Mama loves you, now and forever.
