2021 has been quite a year for sales of Cherry Blossoms in Twilight. I'm not sure why this sudden popularity of an old (2007) book but lived history is interesting and never outdated, and rare is the memoir written about the Japanese civilian experience around WWII.
My mother could not understand why I would bother to write her story and why anyone would be interested in it. Many people have interesting lived-history stories and I hope they or their children bother to write them down. Thank you to all who bothered to read a little memoir of history and culture by nobody famous, and special thanks to those who wrote reviews.
