Filling an Ocean Full of Lore
Hi everyone!
I've been working hard on the sequel novel to Scales Like Stars. I'll be revealing the title and cover in an upcoming newsletter. The newsletter is still in the works. I'll post a link for signs ups here and across my socials when it's ready!
Right now I've been making sure my world-building and lore are water-tight. Haha, pun intended. It's a difficult job, but a fun one. I've always loved building worlds either in RP or in other works of fiction I've written (unpublished and unlikely to ever be).
Here's a little of what you'll be reading in the next book in the series, and that's the two different types of merfolk you'll find in the book: The Altma and the Lyricam, named for their respective neighboring Queendoms.
They're different from one another physically, as we saw in Scales Like Stars. If you read the novella, we were introduced to Javik, the troubled merman who resembled a shark. Altma merfolk reside in dark spots. Though they are reclusive by nature. Altma are quiet and cooperative with other species but don't expect to see them on the surface any time soon or without just cause. They dislike sunlight and are quite comfy down in their abyssal trenches, thank you.
The Lyricam are the merfolk who reside around the coral reefs of Promeiya and are curious, social, and inquisitive. They're covered in brilliantly covered scales and have been known to walk on land from time to time. Examples of these merfolk include Kade and Everly.
These are the two species we'll become more intimately familiar with in the next book, so I hope you're looking forward to it. If you found this interesting, let me know in the comments and maybe I'll share more lore in a future update as I develop it further.
So, what do you think? If you found this interesting, drop me a comment and maybe I'll share some more lore the next time I update.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far, and I hope you have a great week!
