We live in a land
With kings and queens
And though parliament rules
I see them in my dreams

Through the times
With rulers fair and just
Connecting with the people
In the people they trust

I know it’s romantic
And not of this age
To fight for king and queen
Who live in a gilded cage

Somehow though
It speaks to me
Our monarchy
Resonating, through history

So today I raise a glass
And if one asks what I mean
I will simply reply and say
I drink to my king and queen
