Stephen spoke exclusively with Vanity Fair about the strange origins of Firestarter, his complicated experience with the 1984 Drew Barrymore version, and which parts of the new movie he wishes he’d thought of himself.

Head over to Vanity Fair to read the interview

Lisa With all this hype around Firestarter, now would be good time for a sequel ;) like we got for Danny Torrance in Doctor Sleep. I would love to know what happened to Charlie after the book ended, and what she’s up to now.

Charlie Lisa, the answer to that question is in this interview! It's a no.

Yup I read that. Doesn’t hurt to ask. Especially since he said he tells people to imagine Danny and Charlie together, which obviously doesn’t happen.

Charlie For sure, I'd love to know what happens to teenage Charlie. On the other hand, I get why SK has chosen to leave her a pre-teen for so many decades, as he has with most of his child characters, there's somethign mystic about that age (9-12)

With how old King is right now? I don't expect a sequel by his hands. But we've seen people do sequels and inspired ones he's hated plenty. Lawnmower Man 1 and 2, Carrie 2. Long ago there were whisperings of Cujo2, likely resembling the Ol' Yeller sequel and following Cujo's pups or something.

I believe after King has left us, sequels of his media will be made en masse without care.

Ernest L Sewell The 2022 movie was horrible. It's almost as if the screenwriter didn't even read the novel. very disappointing.

I wouldn't mind a novel sequel by SK, to learn about Charlie's life.

That's basically how SK books go, great on paper, but half the adaptations? Hoo boy!
