Once upon a time, the Sun and Moon were great friends. There was no night because they were always together. Children played the whole day, without feeling sleepy. No one in the world knew anything about beds or sleeping. One day, as they flew together, they saw the Ocean. She was the most beautiful thing that they have ever seen. The Ocean enjoyed the Sun’s warmth, and Moon’s decorated face. She loved the Moon more than the Sun. Whenever her eyes gazed upon the Moon, she created waves and tides in excitement. This made the Sun very jealous. One afternoon, as the Ocean slept, the Sun did something terrible. He slowly lifted the Moon, and threw him against the wall of the sky! Instead of breaking like glass, the Moon created millions of sparks which couldn’t go out. He called the sparks “stars.” The Stars knew what the Sun had done to the Moon. Angry at the Sun, they formed an army and attacked him! Before they could attack the Sun, the Ocean stopped them with a question. “Where are you going little stars?” she asked the Stars. “We have gone to destroy the Sun!” they replied. The Ocean did not want either the Sun or Moon to be hurt or destroyed in a fight. She loved both of them. This made her think of a plan fast. “I have an idea!” she told the Stars. The Ocean called both the Moon and Sun. She told them to share their time with her. The Sun would visit her in the day, and the Moon at night. Both of them were very happy with the idea! This made the Ocean happy too! The Stars followed the Moon every day, to protect him from the Sun. From that day onwards, people saw the Sun in the day and the Moon at night.

Il était une fois, le Soleil et la Lune et ils étaient de grands amis. Il n’y avait pas de nuit car ils étaient toujours ensemble. Les enfants ont joué toute la journée, sans avoir sommeil. Personne au monde ne savait quoi que ce soit sur les lits ou le sommeil. Un jour, alors qu’ils volaient ensemble, ils ont vu l’Océan. Elle était la plus belle chose qu’ils avaient jamais vue. L’océan a apprécié la chaleur du soleil et le visage décoré de la lune. Elle aimait la Lune plus que le Soleil. Chaque fois que ses yeux regardaient la Lune, elle créait des vagues et des marées dans l’excitation. Cela a rendu le Soleil très jaloux. Un après-midi, alors que l’Océan dormait, le Soleil fit quelque chose de terrible. Il souleva lentement la Lune, et la jeta contre le mur du ciel ! Au lieu de se briser comme du verre, la Lune a créé des millions d’étincelles qui ne pouvaient pas s’éteindre. Il a appelé les étincelles “étoiles”. Les étoiles savaient ce que le soleil avait fait à la lune. En colère contre le Soleil, ils formèrent une armée et l’attaquèrent ! Pour empêcher les étoiles d’attaquer le Soleil, l’Océan les a arrêtés avec une question. “Où allez-vous petites étoiles ?” « Nous partons détruire le Soleil ! ont-ils répondu. L’Océan ne voulait pas que le Soleil ou la se battent à cause d’elle. Elle les aimait tous les deux. Cela lui fit rapidement penser à une solution. “J’ai une idée!” a-t-elle dit aux étoiles. L’Océan s’adressait à la Lune et au Soleil. Elle leur a dit de partager leur temps avec elle. Le Soleil lui rendait visite le jour et la Lune la nuit. Tous les deux étaient très contents de l’idée ! Cela a rendu l’Océan heureux aussi! Et les Etoiles suivaient la Lune chaque jour. A partir de ce jour, les gens ont vu le Soleil le jour et la Lune et les étoiles la nuit.
