Dessert. June 19

I was out with Martin for dinner one evening, a close friend of mine, and he offered to buy me dessert. This is nothing new as one of our traditions is celebrating what we call the “different Television seasons of our life.” (“What happened in that last episode was so exciting!” we would say as we Cheers! to new developments and new progress happening in our lives).

Martin has known me for years. We have developed a good rapport and friendship. He knows me and trusts me and that is celebrated with a gift – sharing a butter pound cake from the restaurant.

After this dinner with my friend, I thought about the relationship that we as Believers have with Christ. I want to be someone who God can say in a crowded restaurant, "Oh! I know her! I'm sitting next to her. I have a relationship with this person right here. We've known each other for a very long time."

And I receive the best gifts from God, not because I crave the presents, but because the intimacy with the Savior organically manifests blessings from His hand. Because I trust God, because He knows me, because we formed a closeness and an inseparable bond…. I know that He will always celebrate life with me… over a brownie sundae dessert. I always need God to know that life is the sweetest whenever He is around! I choose to celebrate with Him!

If you need prayer for anything, let me know. I would love to pray for you.
