This is 40!

As a child I imagined what my life would be like when I got to this age. I just knew for sure I would be married with children and living life. I thought by now I would be in a different space, in a different place but as I sit in my 3 bedroom home with just me and my fur baby turning the page into a new year of life, I just want to say thank you God. I am grateful for it all. I am blessed beyond measures and today I am grateful.

Too many times we get caught up with the journey of life. We look at others and feel that we should be in a certain place or have these things but nothing compares to your life and journey. This is my path. This is my life and no matter what I see in front of me I am going to enjoy every moment I can. I laugh at the mistakes and learn from them. I will explore new things, places, and people. Time out for just existing. It’s time to live. 

I have no clue what is ahead but I keep putting one foot in front of the other. Continue to surround yourself with positive people. Find your tribe and love them hard. Don’t be afraid to let go of things and people. Don’t be afraid to start over again. Reinvent yourself. Find your passions and work them. Be all that you can be. Life is full of surprises so embrace each of them. Never forget who you are and where you came from. Keep readjusting your crown when life knocks you down. 

Pray continually and love them anyway. This is your time to be the very best you can be. Wake up everyday with determination and aspiration. Let God continue to direct your path. Your jouney is not theirs but yours. Embrace and walk it confidently.  Today I am grateful. I am surrounded by love, joy, peace, and happiness. Today begins a new chapter in my life.
