My children's fantasy book, The Idea Miners: The Lost Lake Dig, was an award finalist in the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards competition. The Indie Book Awards are open to books from independent publishers.
In addition, The Idea Miners: The Lost Lake Dig, was also an award finalist in The National Best Books 2009 Awards. This competition was open to all book publishers, not just the independents, so the field of competition was wider.
It goes without saying that I'm pleased. As an author, receiving awards such as these is very satisfying. But ultimately, my hope is that these awards result in more visibility for the book, and with more people reading and enjoying it,
PS: The book is entered in additional competitions that will not finalize for many months. If the book garners further awards I'll post them here!
