I’m winding down Van Alone (due September 22) and will soon be sending copies to those who’ve expressed interest in a pre-release read. Finishing a book is always exhausting, like breaking up with a lover but wanting to stay friends. You’ll always care but, at the same time, you can’t wait to see the back of them. This time even more so because, for the first time, my ‘hero’ is not likable and I hope readers will want to discover his story.

The main characters in all my books are hot and Van is no exception. You can’t ask me to lock myself away with someone for months on end and not get into him. But, this time, he’s despicable. Arrogant, manipulative, and cold, Van uses people for his own ends. We’ve all known someone like that. Magnetic yet insufferable, they draw us in against our better judgment.

But Van Alone is not only a character study and we watch as Van’s carefully constructed world spins out of control. Suddenly stripped of all his bearings, he finds himself playing a dangerous game with questionable people. Why? That’s the question the book sets out to answer in this rock-and-roll tale of Indiana Jones in Wonderland.
