Adda Bozeman Lecture

On April 17th I will be giving the Adda Bozeman lecture at Sarah Lawrence College (more information on time and location here). The topic, naturally, will be Conquered into Liberty, or more precisely, Conquering into Liberty: The Deep Origins of the American Way of War. Adda Bozeman was a remarkable woman, a biography of whom can be found here. A refugee from Europe she started a career as an attorney and then became a wide-ranging academic, teaching international relations at Sarah Lawrence until her retirement in 1977. She wrote a number of deeply thoughtful books about culture and international politics and - remarkably enough, given SLC's reputation - was a very tough-minded conservative.
