A Purer Search for God

I'm DEEPLY spiritual, but as the 'spiritual but not religious' type. To me, spirituality and the search for Spirit are pure and true, and religion contains a lot of potential guidance towards it, but usually the cost is to consume a great deal of specificity, idolatry and other mind-narrowing-and-controlling elements along with that guidance. One must learn to look for truths that are common to ALL religions and, likely, to all things, and be wary of anything that obstructs this search, ESPECIALLY religion.

Read between the lines, think about motive and learn how to discern the spiritual philosophy and discard the mind-controlling propaganda. You don't need religion to seek God, and some, like me, believe that it can confuse the search and disempower the searcher, who must remain open to the insights offered by ALL religions, and especially to one's personal experiences of Spirit, or 'gnosis.'
