Well, it's been a good couple of months. On top of winning the PWA Shamus Award, I've been named one of the four Artists of the Month by the Missouri Arts Council. The link to the MAC website is here:

On another note, I've recently been reading some very good mysteries, including The Rising, by Kerry Peresta, A Dead Man's Eyes, by Lori Duffy Foster and Mystery at Windswept Farm, by Wendy Eckel. For readers looking for a change from tough-guy cops ("not that there's anything wrong with that"), all three are written in a strong, fast-paced style that features smart, resourceful, and determined female protagonists who use unconventional methods to solve crimes. I recommend all three.
