Perpetually Prepared

You’re getting ready for your typical school day. You pick the right clothes, shoes, you grab your bag as you head out the door. The last thing you want to deal with are any surprises during the day – no pop-up tests, no extra socializing and definitely no spur of the moment partnering projects that will lead to – oh no – an oral presentation!  But remember, you can’t control everything in school or in life.  There are going to be lots of twists and turns and unexpected occurrences. As introverts, we often aren’t as quick to accommodate to these changes as our extroverted counterparts. What if nobody picks me to be their group or to be their partner?  Ultimately, the teacher will make the decision.  And remember, it’s not the first time it’s happened.  Try not to over-think it.You will always learn to deal with your introversion to the best of your ability.  Yes, teachers, friends and employers will understand that you’re not as ‘social’ as others, but you have special strengths as well.   Rest assured; people will notice them.

How have you dealt with unexpected  situations?
