It has been a few months since I have spent time on my book, I have continued to write reviews, and am now writing a monthly article of mystical creatures on openbooksociety.com.
Situations in my life have made me take another look on what is important and I have tried to make adjustments. Now that I hope I am moving in the right direction I am ready and empowered to get back into the editing on my recent work.
My beta readers have been excited over the work so I am knee deep in not letting them down. The importance of a strong edit, and a smooth story is what will rally the readers and I am ready.
I will then go back to my first work and re-look at some of the timeline. It appears the professional edit did not work as well as I had hoped. I did learn a great deal from the editor, she mentored as well with words of encouragement, and I may of misunderstood some of her direction. Or it just may be that different editors for different genres may be important. I will go for more indepth research before choosing an editor in future.
Thank you all for your patience and your kindness during my time of stress, family illness is never expected ...and will take over your life if you let it.
My guidence tells me to get back to my book. It is time.
