The first thing I wrote

I vividly remember the first creative thing I wrote. I was in elementary school in Canada and we were encouraged to write a short story.
My teacher told us that when we were finished, she would 'publish' them. I remember being super excited about it and desperately wanting to see my work in print.
It didn't take me long to come up with a plan for a story. It was set in my very own school. In the cafeteria, to be precise.

'Food Fight' was the title. Pretty self-explanatory, really.

I don't really remember the words I wrote but I remember being really proud of myself when my teacher handed me back my 'published' book.

She had printed out the pages A5 size and bound them in a hard yellow cardboard cover with the title typed on the front.
Now that I think back...perhaps we bound them ourselves....hmmmm....with age goes the memories.
I held onto that book for years. It was one of my prized possessions.

I wonder where it is now.....
