Blind Faith
An old man walks steadily down a forest path. He comes to a clearing, where he finds the path splits into several branches, each leading off in an individual direction.
Having faced many decisions in his lifetime--and regretting most--he decides to let fate decide his destiny, so he closes his eyes and continues to walk straight down the path on which he was already headed.
Continuing down this path, he basks in the comfort and solitude that closing his eyes affords him. He revels in the idea that, though he may have been able to see before, he does not feel blind while letting fate run its course.
The cedar trees around him give off an intoxicating aroma that he has only just now become aware of. He can hear the sound of his footsteps grinding the dirt on the worn path below.
The man stops, deciding that it is a good time to rest.
Suddenly, a tiger charges from the underbrush after a small rabbit which dances through the man's legs in search of some--any--cover.
The tiger runs full force into the man's legs, having not noticed he was even there, so set was she to catch that tiny rabbit.
Without opening his eyes, the man is swept off his feet, and lands with a dull thud against the rough stones on the path.
