This is the year that I put away any book with a female MC whose main characteristic is her stupidity. I don't care if the author is famous, or highly regarded, I cannot read another book where the MC is so attracted to a man's looks that she brushes off his psycho/stalkerish/misogynistic behavior.

Show me books with rational female leads. She doesn't have to be perfect, or a superhero, but don't make me disappointed in her from the get-go.

Give me a female lead that can think rationally while a man is in the room. Give our young women role models who don't simper and fan themselves as if they are 19th C Southern Belles watching Clark Gable saunter down the dance floor.
