It was early January, and I sat at my favorite coffee shop with a warm cup of coffee. I was thinking about how far I’ve come in my own life and how happy I feel to have many more ways and days to go. My client, in her eighties, sat opposite me; she thinks it is time to publish the poems she has written and accumulated for over a quarter of a century. Why did you wait all this time? I inquired. Life is long, she answered. I acknowledge the truth of her answer for the first time.

Life is long!
