Whenever I find myself looking up the meaning of words that happen to resonate at any particular moment, I know it's time to pause & reassess my situation.
For example, I was wondering about the origin of relax.
Etymology
Middle English, from Latin relaxare, from re- + laxare to loosen, from laxus loose — more at SLACK
Yeah, you guessed it—I'm at that point in my independent author odyssey where I could use some serious emotional loosening.
The worst part is that I almost wish I had a demanding but understanding boss to say, "Listen, you've been busting it on this project for a good while. Do everybody a favor & take a day off & go for a hike or something, will you?"
So, maybe it's time for that staycation I've been thinking about—a daycation maybe since I got that one thing to check on, you know. Otherwise, I'm good . . . honest.
Till next time,
Drew
