Hello all!
I will go right into writing my fantasy satire “The Goddess of Pigland.” I loved writing it, not so much rewriting and editing. The story came alive on its own. plot development presented itself to me unbidden. I would be involved in some seemingly unrelated activity and have a sudden revelation about the next step in the narrative.
I had been feeding my imagination since I was a child by soaking up the world’s mythologies, the theories of Joseph Campbell, the fantasies of LotR, Michael Moorcock’s Elric, Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian and the creepy Cthulhu Mythos. In collage I minored in English Lit and slowly became aware of the heritage of western literature. Writing The Goddess of Pigland was organic, a natural evolving process and the ingredients just fell into place.
Warning! TGoP has a few instances of bathos and may not be completely free of fart jokes. I write like a cross between a pedantic professor from the 19th century and a 12 year old street thug of limited intelligence and this is reflected in the tone of the narrator.
Not for everyone, the novel, contrary to the “never write for yourself,” rule, was written under the assumption that readers would appreciate the same sense of irony and humor that I do. If you limit yourself to classic literature, or serious drama, you may be turned off, even though I think of myself as a thoughtful writer. On the other hand if you liked Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series or Harvard Lampoon’s “Bored of the Rings,” you may be in familiar territory.
Incidentally, someone troll gave me a one star rating on my novel without any feedback, a very cowardly move. I don't mind constructive criticism or even an objective opinion, if that's possible. I doubt they read the novel.
Have fun, be kind and you will not have fewer regrets.

It should have said, "Have fun, be kind and you will have fewer regrets". Which I really do believe and was not going for a joke.
Started out as: "Have fun, be kind and you will not have regrets," then went to change the grammar but overlooked the word "not" and typo-ed,
