The Guest House by the Sea
I’m utterly thrilled to share with you the cover and details of my new book coming this summer all the way from Ballycove…
I adore the cover, it absolutely portrays exactly what I wanted the reader to feel if they were staying in one of the guest bedrooms of The Willows, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.
I think this might be my favorite cover EVER!!With Esme, Cora, Niamh and Phyllis for company, we are going right to the heart of what a Faith Hogan book is all about… it is unadulterated feel good fiction with lots of heart. There are of course some bumps along the way, and there may be an occasional moment when you’ll want to pull your nearest and dearest close to you, but it’s a contemporary uplifting story and if you liked visiting Ballycove in the past, then this is the perfect summer holiday in your back garden… you don’t even have to bring your swim suit this time!
Here’s the official blurb from the hard back cover (I know, I’m really excited – my first hardback!)
People come to the guest house for fresh air and views across the Atlantic. But if they’re lucky, they might just leave with the second chance they didn’t know they needed…
Esme has run the guest house for as long as anyone in Ballycove can remember. But in her declining years, her sight is failing, and when she has a fall on the eve of the summer season, she is forced to take a back seat for the first time in her life.
From her chair in the entry hall, not much passes Esme by. There’s Cora, the wife visiting indefinitely… without her husband; Niamh, the city professional with a life-changing decision to make; and Phyllie, the grandmother whose family is slipping away from her.
Esme’s guests provide the colour that helps her keep her grip on the world. All of them have something they want to escape – or to hold on to. But can Esme help them find their way before the summer is over?
From bestselling Irish writer Faith Hogan comes a new, uplifting story about discovering love, friendship and the healing power of the Irish sea air. It will charm fans of Sheila O’Flanagan, Heidi Swain and Susanne O’Leary.
It’s available to pre-order in a bookshop near you and of course, it’s also up for grabs on Amazon. I’ll be adding links into the book page as it appears in the various retailers, but for now, it’s our secret… actually, a little like the Willows tucked away by the sea!
