The robin comes every day now

Brown and red

Earth and fire

Creature of air

Sitting serenely on the wicker pot

Hopping from fence to tree

Looking through the window

Head cocked in curiosity

I think we all mimic

Without realising

3 humans standing

Rapt

Motionless

With heads to one side

While the robin assesses us

Calm

Confident

Free

And nabs the rice crispies

I threw out this morning.
