A Blog: Why Not?

I didn't expect to sit down this afternoon and crank out a blog post. But, what the hell? Something about it actually feels kind of therapeutic.
As a brand new author, I'm learning a lot every day but still have a lot of shit to figure out. As a mother of two, I will go straight to the birth analogy: My novel is my first baby, and I'm thrilled that she is alive in the world. But now the real work begins - the daily care and feeding. Introducing it to the world.
So, here we go ...
And as I ask myself, what can I contribute to this space, well, this is where I land: What is that gray space between fact and fiction? Can an author be inspired but what actually happened and make it become something she wants to reimagine? How does the fact feed the fiction?
I think that's what this blog will be about.
Onwards.
