How to create an inspiring work environment. Feng Shui your office space to magnify success and maximize career potential.

Feng Shui — the combination of ancient Chinese wisdom and practical common sense.
How can you use this centuries-old wisdom to improve your work?
Start by arranging your environment in such a way that everything harmonizes and stimulates positive energy. Feng Shui is all about the flow of energy.
Clutter stops the flow of energy. Make sure your pathways are clear with an easy flow around any furniture in the room.
The Feng Shui color wheel shows each direction’s color, element, and area of life. (Easily accessed on Google).

Add a standing screen to separate it from the rest of the house or room if needed.
Desk placement is very important.
Your desk is best to face the door. This is the power position. Be sure to place it as far away from the door as possible.

The ideal desk is solid wood and has a rectangular shape.
Place your computer on the right side of the desk, with something higher on the left, such as a lamp. Have something solid behind you.
It’s also auspicious to have inspiring images or messages on the walls. Something that symbolizes abundance, success, prosperity — what you want to accomplish.
As much as possible, avoid sharp corners on office furniture. Position sharp edges away from you. Rounded corners are ideal.
If you don’t have a natural, inspiring view to look at, create one with appropriate artwork or images that appeal to you.
If you do have an office window, but the view from it is less than inspiring, mask it with a translucent curtain.
When it comes to items on your desk, be sure to choose pieces that inspire you. Reflecting on your personality in your surroundings inspires personal growth.
The sound of running water helps reduce stress. This can be accomplished through a small fountain planter or even background music.
Plants are a must. They activate positive energy and help get rid of negative energy. Have a plant in front of windows and on the southeast corner of your desk.
I have three money plants on my desk.

If so, make sure they’re tidy and neat. Overcrowded bookshelves can make you feel overwhelmed and block positive energy.
Sitting at your desk — the farthest corner on your left-hand side is your wealth area. The farthest right corner is love. The section that is in the center, closest to you (most likely where your keyboard is), is your career center.
