Dear Reader,
Yesterday I released my newest novel, 36 Pearl Street. This is a fictional story but one of the most important characters is based on my grandmother. She was a strong and stubborn Polish woman who came to the US with her growing family after WWII. She never spoke of her past in detail so what we have is bits and pieces of family-lore.
When I started writing, I always knew I wanted to tell her story but was never sure what was the right way. How do you tell such an incredible story and do it justice? This story is probably my whole life in the making but realistically maybe ten years in development.
My grandma passed away almost twenty years ago and this is a nod to her bravery, strength and resilience in the only way I know how, through story telling.
I hope you love these characters as much as I do.
Out today, 36 Pearl Street!!
