EXTREMES: LONE WOLVES PLAYLIST
EXTREMES: LONE WOLVES PLAYLIST
Just as I’ve done with all the other books in the Extremes series so far, here’s the recommended playlist for the latest release, Lone Wolves. Since I’ve already dropped the announcement post for the book instead of ass-backwards like I did with No Safety in Numbers, I won’t mess around and spout too much random shit; I’ll just get to the point.
Lone Wolves, as one might already know from previous posts, or indeed from the mere title alone, revolves around single protagonists/antagonists finding themselves up their necks in all kinds of nightmarish situations. It doesn’t follow the template set out by the books that came before it, since we all know Lone Wolves like to beat their own path and do their own thing, but I’ve at least followed the template I established in previous playlists.
Genre-wise, there aren’t a whole bunch of surprises. After all I equate certain types of extreme music with the material I write and that usually works best for me. Now and then there’s a curveball tossed in, and you might stumble across one or two of those in this particular playlist, but for the most part, it’s going to be a mashup of extreme metal (black and death), aggrotech and a splash of horrorcore. Mind you, it’s far from just black and death; there’s a fair chunk of female fronted metal, a spot of mainstream metal, a couple of tracks you might not expect.
In comparison to some of the prior books there is a pretty heavy musical influence soaked through the works in Lone Wolves. Granted, one of those in the first set of three was rather heavy metal infused, and this one is probably even more so, so it should come as no surprise to find a fuckload of metal (primarily of the black and death variety) featuring here. Hell, there’s a tale revolving all around an enigmatic black metal outfit among the bloodsplattered works that make up Lone Wolves, so yeah, no astonishment there…
In any case, here we go. The playlist for Lone Wolves, grouped the same as Couples and No Safety in Numbers with specific songs for each story. Feel free to listen to it however the hell you like, of course, but in order for the playlist to make any sense whatsoever, this is my recommended order for it.
Check it out, and be sure to check out Extremes: Lone Wolves as well. Available on Kindle, paperback coming soon.
