It has been a while. My daughter is going through something at school that I wonder has the teacher the resources to deal with. She has disconnected from a group of girls that were being mean to her, yet now even after the fact they still are. They pushed her down the stairs, some steps on Thursday and choked her by her hood. We were in attendance at a literary festival on Friday and she broke down crying. I've emailed her teacher to arrange a meeting.
She is an exceptional little girl who at the age of 9 had a book dedicated to her. The photo shoot we did at The Hellfire Club in Dublin came up on my memories today and Nola, my little girl and the dedication when I opened the cover of the book showed to know her is to love her.
Sometimes when someone is our best friend we can become sloppy about their books, ach I'm a slow reader, yet recently instead of seven on the go on audible I've returned to the tactile quality of a physical book. My chosen book to go with this blog post is Her Child's Cry by Shane Dunphy, a strong series. He happens to be one of my daughter's best friends. She corrects me and says her best.
